Frequently Asked Questions
Will the collections be on the same day as my refuse /
recycling collections?
To ensure the service operates efficiently it may be necessary
to collect on a day that is not your refuse or recycling collection
day. We will let you know what day your collection will be made
when you subscribe to the service.
I receive an assisted collection for my
recycling/refuse, will I get an assisted collection for my green
garden waste?
Yes you will receive an assisted collection. Please can you let
us know if you currently receive an assisted collection when you
subscribe so we can ensure it is carried out. How much should I put
in my sack(s)? If you overload your sack it may not be collected.
If you can’t lift the sack, we can’t lift it. Look after both your
safety and our collection crew’s safety.
Where can I get additional sacks?
Additional sacks can be purchased from the main DDC Council office at Whitfield.
Do I have to use the sack supplied by Dover District
Council?
No you may use your own sacks but you must ensure that the
licence tag issued to you is visible when they are put out for
collection.
What if I wish to put out more than six bags per
collection?
Additional licences can be purchased should you wish to have
more than the allocated six bag collection. There is no limit to
the number of licences a property may purchase. All licence tags
issued to a property must be displayed on bag/s when placed out for
collection.
What happens to the green waste when it is
collected?
Green Garden Waste is composted and produces a high quality soil
improver that is taken to a local facility where it is composted
and then used on the farmers land. Full terms and conditions for
the garden waste service are available on request. The full green waste recycling process.
