Town Centre Events Grant

This scheme has now closed.

Dover District Council recognises that bringing well organised events into our town centres raises footfall significantly and supports local businesses by giving them the chance to do more trade as well as showcase their offer to people that may not usually visit the town centre regularly.

We also appreciate that due to the lock down and social distancing restrictions some events have had to be scaled back significantly or cancelled altogether.   Now that the restrictions have been lifted we would like to assist local event organisers to make the most of their events by assisting with some grant funding from our Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) fund that has been provided by Central Government.

Your organisation must:

  • Be a local business registered with Companies House, a charity registered with the Charity Commission or a local well established group
  • Have run town centre events previously with evidence of significant town centre attendance & footfall

The event/s must:

  • Significantly raise footfall in the town centres of Dover, Deal or Sandwich
  • Be free for the community to attend
  • Be registered with and approved by DDC’s event planning team - www.dover.gov.uk/events
