Skills & Jobs Fairs 

In partnership with the Department of Work & Pensions, Dover District Council is committed to providing Jobs Fairs across the district to showcase the wide range of jobs and training opportunities on offer. Below is a list of past and upcoming events. 

• Dover's Big Skills & Jobs Fair - Dover Cruse Terminal - 10am-3pm - 18th October 2022
• Aylesham Advance To Work Jobs Fair - Aylesham workshop Trust - 10am-1pm - 1st December 2022
• Deal Skills & Jobs Fair - Landmark Centre - 10am-3pm - Febuary 2023 (date tbc) 

Projects 

Dover District Council has facilitated a number of employability development projects:

Acquire

The Acquire project was a free unique programme that provided support to people aged 18-25 who live within the Dover District and are looking for employment and/or support and advice to increase their employability and skills. 3 Acquire 'drop in' hubs have been established in the Dover District that can be attended by anyone aged 18-25. The project has since closed, however Dover District Council are working with the Department of Work & Pensions at future collaborations.

ASPIRE

ASPIRE is a FREE programme to help people learn new skills, access opportunities for employment and improve their health and wellbeing. It's for anyone over 18 who is out of work or in temporary insecure work. As the project is due to close in March 2023, the program is not currently taking referrals.
