How does the Community Grant Scheme work?
How you can expect the DDC Community Grants Scheme to work.
When the application process closes we will check that the applications submitted meet the criteria and are eligible to go forward to the next stage. You may be contacted for further supporting information during this time. This process usually takes 2-3 weeks.
The Grants Appraisal Panel will meet to score the applications for each Forum area. This will usually happen during June (but check the website for up to date information).
DDC Cabinet must approve the recommendations of the Appraisal Panel. This will be done at the earliest opportunity.
Formal offer letters will be sent out to successful and unsuccessful applicants. If successful you will be asked to:
- acknowledge receipt of the letter
- accept the terms and conditions of the grant
- confirm your bank details
The Awards Ceremony will take place. If you are successful you will be expected to attend as part of your grant conditions. The date and time of the ceremony will be displayed on the website. It is likely the event will be held towards the end of September.
The grant will be paid directly to your organisation's bank account by BACS transfer. You will not be paid by cheque. It is your responsibility to ensure your bank can accept the BACS transfer. We will aim to pay the grant into your bank account within 28 days of receiving acknowledgement from you.
If you receive a grant, we will ask you to complete and return a monitoring form. The form will be sent out to you at the time the grant is paid. The completed form must show how you have spent the grant and how it has achieved it's purpose. You will need to show evidence of payment (receipts). Monitoring forms must be completed and returned by 31 March of your grant award year unless you have sought permission for an extension.
We will publicise successful projects on our website and social media platforms. As a condition of the grant we expect you to publicise your project and the source of funding. Please let us know what publicity or events you have planned.
