Prospective Councillor Event 2022

Do you care about our District?

On 4 May 2023 all 32 district council seats in 17 wards will be up for election.

Councillors are elected by local residents to represent them in making decisions about how the district is governed and how the Council should carry out its various activities. They represent the public interest of the district as a whole as well as that of individuals living within the ward to which they were elected.

You don’t need to be a member of any Political Party - but you do need a genuine interest in what happens in the Dover District. Councillors are people just like you, from all walks of life, ages and backgrounds.

Dover District Council held its Prospective Councillor Evening at the Council Offices at Whitfield on Tuesday 14 June 2022 from 6.00pm to 9.00pm. A number of events will be held by the Elections team in 2023 for those actively looking to stand for election.
