This site is owned by the Council, and is being developed for new Council housing. Planning permission has been granted for 16 studio flats. The new homes will be let at social rents and will provide interim housing for local people facing homelessness. The project forms part of the Council’s commitment to develop its own interim housing to reduce the reliance on B&B accommodation

This site is owned by the Council, and is being developed for new Council housing. Planning permission has been granted for 8 one bedroom flats.

The new homes will be let at social rents and will provide interim housing for local people facing homelessness.

The project forms part of the Council’s commitment to develop its own interim housing to reduce the reliance on B&B accommodation.

Construction has begun on the two residential blocks, with the foundations cast, ground floor installed and a start made on laying blockwork for the walls.

This site is owned by the Council, and is being developed for new Council housing. A planning application has been submitted for 24 flats, including studio, one two and 3 bedroom flats, with some flats designed to be accessible for people with mobility impairments. The new homes will be let at social rents and will provide interim housing for local people facing homelessness. The project forms part of the Council’s commitment to develop its own interim housing to reduce the reliance on B&B accommodation.

The site at Whitfield is being developed to provide 26 new affordable homes for local people. The development will be a mix of homes comprising 1 and 2 bedroom flats, 2,3 and 4 bedroom houses and one 5 bedroom house which has been designed to provide accommodation for a family who have some additional needs.

The new homes will provide affordable housing for local people. The construction work is now well underway with foundations and sub structure walls being built, the drainage system installed and the access road started. See photos below.

This new development offers a stunning mix of new shared ownership, affordable rent and open market properties for sale. They are within walking distance from the magnificent coastal White Cliffs of Dover and are close to the town centre.  

The two new buildings at the former William Muge House and Snelgrove House, Leyborne Road, Harold Street and Godwyne Road have been designed by Avanti Architects and built by Exemplar Homes, they are due to be completed in 2021.

The affordable rented apartments have a, fitted kitchen, bathroom, fitted carpets in the bedrooms and central heating.

All apartments at William Muge and Snelgrove, will have UPVC windows, external lighting, car parking and bike store, lift access, and a security entry system. Internally they have neutral painting to walls, LED low energy lighting, integrated smoke and heat detectors, a telephone point for phone or for Wi-Fi and router, heating by gas boiler and wall hung radiators.
