Community Led Housing

Community Led Housing

We are keen to ensure that any communities who are interested in delivering homes in their area have the knowledge and support they need to make their plans a reality.

Community Led Housing is a way for communities to play an active role in solving the housing needs in their local area. Community Led Housing can take many forms, and is flexible to suit the requirements of a range of different scenarios and circumstances.

Dover district council has been awarded funding via the Government's Community Housing Fund to help communities to deliver the homes their community needs.  We are doing this by providing training, information and support, and helping Community Led Housing groups to access funding.

We have launched a series of free training courses for groups interested in delivering Community Led Housing.  For more information about these courses, and those run by external organisations please go to:

DDC Community housing grants scheme »

We have launched a two tier small grants scheme to help community organisations get their plans off the ground. The first level helps with with initial set up costs, and the second is for projects which are at a more advanced stage
