• Advice and assistance with housing maintenance, security and safety
• Advice on budgeting and money management
• Support with competing forms and accessing benefits 
• Information and advocacy 
• Promoting independence through the development of personal and social skills 
• Support with accessing other services and agencies

Professional advice and support with repairs, adaptations and home improvements, including:

• Home visits to assess the repairs/adaptations needed 
• Advice on grants and sources of funding
• Help with finding reputable builders
  • Repairs to a leaking roof
  • Damp proofing and rewiring
  • Loft/other insulation
  • Structural work
  • Bathroom fixtures and fittings
  • Window repair or replacement
  • Fitting of grab rails and stair lifts

This Service is for older, disabled or other vulnerable people who need advice on repairs or adaptations to their homes.

The Independent Living Scheme offers support to learning disabled and physically disabled adults to enable them to live independently in their own homes. The support offered includes:

• Assistance with budgeting
• Assistance with Benefit applications
• Help with housing needs
• Help with finding employment
• Travel training
• Access to services and colleges

Access is by referral only, from Care Management, Supporting People and Health Authority.
