Beach And Tram Shelters Refurbished As Part Of Repair And Painting Works

A local Deal firm has been awarded a contract to carry out a range of repair and painting works in the district – with works including the refurbishment of three beach shelters on Deal Seafront, the Victorian tram shelter on Folkestone Road in Dover, and the Dover Museum frontage.

DDC has awarded the contract to Hipperson Builders (M&E) Ltd in Deal. The three beach shelters on Deal Seafront include two Art Deco shelters, and one shelter near Hengist Road. Works are due to start in September.

Martin Leggatt, DDC Head of Assets and Building Control said: “We are pleased to award this contract to a local company. The refurbishments are part of our regular maintenance across the district, as we continue to work hard to preserve and protect our buildings and heritage, and keep the district looking great for the future.”
