Council Tax Decision

 

Council Tax levels for 2020/21 were confirmed at a meeting of Full Council last night (26 Feb). Dover District Council confirmed the district council part of the Council Tax bill for 2020/21 for a Band D property will be £192.24 a year, an increase of 2.6%. The average total Council Tax bill for 2020/21 for a Band D property in the district will be £1,894.39, an increase of 3.9%. 

The average total bill for a Band D property for 2020/21 includes an element of Council Tax for: 

  • Kent County Council - £1,351.26
  • The Police and Crime Commissioner for Kent - £203.15
  • Dover District Council - £192.24
  • Kent and Medway Fire and Rescue - £79.29
  • An average for Town and Parish Councils - £68.45.

While Dover District Council is responsible for the collection of Council Tax in the district, DDC’s part of the overall Council Tax bill is around 10% of the total collected.
