New District Local Plan
We are in the process of producing a new Local Plan. The Local Plan covers the period from 2014 to 2037 and will set out the key policies for the district. Once adopted, this new Plan will replace the current suite of Development Plan documents.
The Local Plan will shape the future development of the district's towns and villages between now and 2037.
It will identify:
- new homes
- new jobs and business premises
- open spaces
- community facilities for people to use
- infrastructure such as roads

Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment
The Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment is a document that identifies and assesses all land across the District for its residential and economic development potential. It is a technical assessment that considers the availability, suitability and achievability of land in the District.
Following the Council's recent Call for Sites exercise held in summer 2017, we are currently assessing sites submitted and outputs of this work are anticipated for summer 2018.

- Dover Waterfront
We are in the process of preparing an Area Action Plan for Dover Waterfront which will set out the masterplan and vision for the mixed use development of this area.
