New Dover District Local Plan

We are in the process of producing a new Local Plan.  The Local Plan sets out planning policies and proposals for new development in the District over the period from 2020 to 2040. Once adopted, the Local Plan will replace the current suite of Development Plan documents

To find out more about the new Local Plan and read the Regulation 18 draft Dover District Local Plan then please visit our new website

The consultation on the Regulation 18  Draft Dover District Local Plan and associated documents has now closed.

If you have made a representation on the draft Local Plan this will be uploaded onto the Council’s Consultation Portal ( ) and you will receive an email notifying you of this.

Following this, your comment will be reviewed and processed. When all the comments have been processed, the comments will be made publicly viewable.

The council will then review, consider and respond to the comments received as part of the consultation on the draft Local Plan.

The timetable for the local plan is set out in the Local Development Scheme (LDS). The LDS will be updated in 2022 to reflect an updated timetable. Regulation 19 Publication is planned to commence before the end of Q1 2022.
