Co-Innovation, Stembrook Lane Shopping Arcade

Gaby Redman designs at the Co-Innovation Centre

In April 2018 we purchased an ex Co-op building that had been empty for some time.  The building sits close to the new £53 million St James’ retail park, providing an important link to the Old Town and helps to create additional footfall between the two locations.

Dover Big Local have been given use of the building in Stembrook for two years in order to provide a low cost space for new businesses to try out their ideas with an aim to move on to acquiring permanent premises in other parts of the town centre.

Tenants can build their own shops within their floor space and heating, lighting and internet are all included in the rent which is low and based on the floor space used.

The venture has been so successful that it is now at full capacity and there is a waiting list for spaces.
