Consultation: New parking schemes

We are proposing to make a new order at the locations mentioned below which are indicated on the documents on deposit and will provide additional:
  • residents/limited waiting parking places and associated waiting prohibitions
  • pay and display parking places for coaches on Dover seafront 
  • on-street parking places for disabled persons vehicles and to remove redundant parking places

Proposed resident parking schemes

  • Permit holders will be permitted to park without limitation of time.
  • The cost of a residents’ parking permit will be £60 per year and visitors permits will cost £2 each (maximum 20 per household per year).
  • Residents’ Parking Permits will be available for motor cars and certain light goods vehicles but will not be valid for caravans or other trailers.

Zone M, Dover »

Priory Hill and Priory Grove

  • General parking limited to 2 hours (with no return permitted within 4 hours) between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Mondays - Saturdays.
  • Parking bays on the the north-eastern and northern sides from High Street to outside 32 except where there are existing double yellow lines.
  • Parking bays on the south-western side from the end of the existing double yellow lines near Priory Grove to outside 21 Priory Hill.
  • Double yellow lines will be marked for 10 metres each side of the bend outside 23 Priory Hill.

Zone N, Deal »

Beechwood Ave

  • General parking limited to 2 hours (with no return permitted within 4 hours) between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Mondays - Saturdays.
  • Parking bays on the south-western side of Beechwood Avenue, between the existing double yellow lines.
  • Double yellow lines (no waiting at anytime) along the whole of the north-eastern side.

Astor Drive

  • General parking limited to 2 hours (with no return permitted within 4 hours) between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Mondays - Saturdays.
  • Parking bays on the north-eastern side of Astor Drive, between 15 metres from London Road and the turning area at the side of 5 Astor Drive.
  • Parking bays on the south-western side outside 10 Astor Drive.
  • Double yellow lines (no waiting at any time) where there are no parking bays.

London Road 

  • Double yellow lines (no waiting at any time) on the southern side will, for safety reasons, be extended from its present terminal point on the boundary of 53-55 London Road south-westwards to cover the junction with Astor Drive.

Mill Road 

  • General parking limited to 2 hours (with no return permitted within 4 hours) between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Mondays - Saturdays.
  • A residents parking place (33 metres in length) fronting 1-5 Mill Road.
  • The double yellow lines on the north-western side which currently terminate outside 16 Mill Road will be extended ta new terminal point in line with the boundary of 34/36 Mill Road.
  • Double yellow lines, 13 metres in length, will also be marked on the south-eastern side approximately opposite 32 Mill Road.

Extension of Zone L, Deal »

Northcote Road

  • General parking limited to 2 hours (with no return permitted within 1 hour) between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Mondays – Saturdays.
  • Parking bays on the western side of Northcote Road from the southern boundary of 2 Northcote Road and the existing turning area at the northern end.
  • Double yellow lines (no waiting at any time) where there are no parking bays.

Dover Seafront »

Waterloo Crescent 

  • Three existing car parking spaces on both sides of Waterloo Crescent fronting and opposite 50-60 Harbour House (six in total) to become pay and display parking places for buses.  These are currently pay and display parking places for motor cars, motor cycles and invalid carriages.
  • The tariff will be £7.50 per 24 hours.

Marine Parade

  • Six existing car parking spaces on the northern side of Marine Parade immediately east of Dour Place to become pay and display parking places for buses. These are currently pay and display parking places for motor cars, motor cycles and invalid carriages.
  • The tariff will be £7.50 per 24 hours.

Whitfield – Fitness Field »

Road leading to new Dover District Leisure Centre

  • Waiting will be prohibited at all times (double yellow lines) on both sides for the entire length of Fitness Fields.
