Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) Consultation, Open from 15 April to 27 May 2025

We are asking residents, businesses and other stakeholders for their views on the audited routes and other comments on Cycling and Walking in the Dover District.

Please complete the on-line survey.

Local cycling and walking infrastructure plans (LCWIPS) are normally a 10-year strategic approach to cycling and walking improvements. They form part of the Government strategy to increase the number of trips made on foot or by cycle.

The LCWIP process helps maximise the impact of projects, by identifying local cycle and walking improvements that may benefits other modes of active travel.

The key outputs of LCWIPs are:

(a)                A network plan for walking and cycling which identifies preferred routes and core zones for further development.

(b)                A prioritised programme of infrastructure improvements for future investment.

The five reports below which were developed by Sustrans set out the review of the existing network and provides a narrative which supports the identified improvements on the network.

As well as an online consultation, the team is set to listen to views and answer questions with the Community Roots Van at: St James Retail and Leisure Park on Thursday 8 May; Deal High Street on Thursday 15 May; and Sandwich Age Concern on Thursday 22 May. Press Release
