Holiday Camp launches at Dover District Leisure Centre

With the long school summer holidays just around the corner, Dover District Leisure Centre is launching an exciting new holiday camp for children aged 5-11.  Alongside a wide selection of structured sports sessions, including swimming lessons, basketball, badminton and gymnastics, children will also have the opportunity to try their hand at arts and crafts.

The holiday camps cost £20 per day, per child and runs Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 3.30pm for five weeks from Monday, 29 July until Friday, 30 August.  There will be no holiday camp session on Bank Holiday Monday (26 August).

Each day will start off with ice breaker games to help the children feel at ease and make new friends ready for the fun filled day ahead.  The timetable for the day includes a different sport/activity each hour as well as time for breaks and lunch.  Children will need to bring their own packed lunch.

Not only will there be lots of fun and games, the sessions are all also structured to ensure that children can learn about the activity in question, to help their confidence if they are trying something new, as well as being able to suit all levels of ability.

Tony Crafer, Contract Manager at Dover District Leisure Centre, said: “We know that parents can find it difficult to keep the children occupied during the long summer holidays.  With our great new facilities we’ve been able to put together an exciting programme of activities that will banish boredom and keep the kids active!”
