Hop On, Get Fit! Month's Free Bus Travel for Leisure Centre Users

Dover District Council and Places Leisure are offering a month’s free bus travel with Stagecoach for members and concession card holders at the Dover District Leisure Centre.  The scheme covers travel to the leisure centre across the area covered by the Stagecoach Dover and Deal megarider ticket.

Regular bus services – including the 12, 61, 61A, 88, 89, 90, 92 and 92A – call at either the B&Q bus stop, nearest the leisure centre, or at Tesco in Whitfield, just a short walk away.  There are sheltered bus stops with seating at both locations.  A full list of timetables and services is available online at www.stagecoachbus.com

The free bus passes and more information is available from the Places Leisure membership services team at the leisure centre.

Cllr Trevor Bartlett, DDC’s portfolio holder for environment and commercial services, said: “Promoting sustainable and public transport is a key aim of our Travel Plan for the leisure centre.  By offering a month’s free travel with Stagecoach we hope more people will realise the wide range of local bus services which offer a convenient travel option to the leisure centre.

“With the huge success of the new leisure centre, and the growing commercial and residential activity in Whitfield, we hope to see further development of local bus services.”
