Pre-School Building at Kingsdown & Ringwould Primary Gets the Green Light

DDC’s Planning Committee has resolved to approve plans for a new pre-school building within the grounds of Kingsdown and Ringwould CofE Primary School on Glen Road, Kingsdown.

The new building is designed by local practice, Charles Holland Architects, and will replace a current temporary classroom on the site.  The bespoke design would meet Ofsted standards and deliver a positive and welcoming appearance both for the children and the local community.

The Kingsdown Pre-School is currently run from St John’s Village Hall in Kingsdown and the move to a purpose-built facility will allow the pre-school to increase the pupil numbers up to 30 children.

Cllr Nick Kenton, DDC’s portfolio holder for planning, said:  “This is an exciting development that will deliver a 21st century educational environment for local children as well as improving the street scene.  I am pleased that the Planning Committee supported the application and we look forward to seeing the building take shape in the future.”
