Everyone loved it last year and now the dinosaurs are coming back!

You won’t want to miss Dinosaur Day in Pencester Gardens, Dover on Wednesday 6 August.

Dover’s very own ‘Jurassic Park’ comes to life with opportunities to train “friendly” dinosaurs, to join a walkabout with a giant T-Rex, and to meet and greet some smaller dinosaurs too, all overseen by a team of experienced dinosaur wranglers!

The event is FREE so just turn up throughout the day from 10am to 3pm.

Children of all ages will be enthralled by the 'Dinosaur Safari' shows at 11am, 1pm and 2.30pm, together with a dinosaur walkabout at either end of Pencester Gardens at 12pm.

As well as the shows, a host of other dinosaur-themed activities are available for the whole family to enjoy:

You can experience:

  • Dino safari park shows in Pencester Gardens
  • Walking with the dinos and photo opportunities
  • Meeting reptiles at the petting zoo
  • Dinosaur crafts at Dover Museum in the Market Square
  • Creating a paper bag puppet dragon inspired by the medieval creatures of Dover’s Maison Dieu
  • Plus craft activities from Artsworks, fossil hunting with the White Cliffs Countryside Partnership, face painting by The Painted Lady and hula hooping with the Hoopsea Hoopers!
  • Kent Downs, Royal British Legion, Little Urchin Hedgehog Rescue and Kent Library will also have stalls.

Cllr Lynne Wright, Cabinet Member for Community at Dover District Council, said: “Come along and join in with some roarsome fun for Dinosaur Day. It’s a great day out for the whole family – where Pencester Gardens turns into Jurassic Park for the day!”
