Evidence Base: Environment

Evidence on the environment includes the following studies, plans and strategies:

• Kent Biodiversity Action Plan March 2005
  Sets out the steps needed to secure a healthy future for the habitat and for the wildlife that depends on the habitat for their survival.
• Countryside Rights of Way - Access Land Maps
  Link to the public right of access to land mapped as 'open country' (mountain, moor, heath and down) or registered common land. These areas are known as 'open access land'
• Dover District Landscape Character Assessment (Jacobs Babtie) January 2006
  This study looks at the different landscape character areas in the district, excluding the land which falls within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
• Thanet Coast SPA Mitigation Strategy October 2012 

This Strategy was developed to allay concerns regarding possible effects of recreational activities on the European sites between Deal and Sandwich Bay National Nature Reserve and ensures we meet the responsibilities set out in Reg 16 of the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2010.
