New Dover District Local Plan

New District Local Plan and Main Modifications consultation

The Council is consulting on Main Modifications to the Regulation 19 Submission Local Plan which have been recommended by the Inspectors as being needed to make the plan ‘sound’. The changes are proposed to address the Inspectors’ Initial Findings (ED45) and changes agreed during the hearing sessions themselves, including some of those proposed in the Council’s hearing statements and Statements of Common Ground. All background documents are available on the Council’s website at: Dover District Local Plan Examination and the consultation runs from Thursday 11th April until 5pm on 24th May 2024.

All information relating to the Dover District Local Plan can found on the dedicated Local Plan Website.

Local Development Scheme and Timetable for Local Plan

The timetable for the production of local plan and consultation at the different stages is set out in the Local Development Scheme (LDS)

The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 places a statutory duty on the Council to maintain an up-to-date Local Development Scheme (LDS) that sets out the timetable for the production of the Council's Local Plan. It is important to be kept up-to-date to reflect the Council's Local Plan progress, and in doing so keep residents and key stakeholders informed.

Cabinet Members approved an update to the Local Development Scheme (LDS) on Monday 5th September 2022.
