Consultation: Making of an Article 4(1) Direction at land known as the Dour Street Dover Conservation Area

We are seeking views on the making of an Article 4(1) Direction on the Dour Street Dover Conservation Area. The Direction would remove the permitted development rights for certain forms of development to residential properties which means that planning permission would be required before they could be carried out. The Direction relates to the elevation that faces a highway only and does not relate to changes to elevations which are not public. A draft copy of the Direction can be viewed here.

Representations may be made from 21st May until 3rd July.  If you wish to make representations you may do so by email to Conservation@dover.gov.uk or by post to Head of Regeneration and Development, White Cliffs Business Park, Dover, CT16 3PJ.

Consultation:  Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) - 3 May 2024

Sustrans (a charity making it easier for people to walk and cycle) is working with Dover District Council to develop a Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP). The LCWIP is a district wide plan which seeks to connect people and places across the district with safe and accessible routes for everyone. This will help Dover achieve its targets on carbon neutrality whilst improving air quality, health and the economy. In 2020, Sustrans completed the 'four towns review' of our major settlements. In-person events were then held on Monday 13 May (2:30pm – 6:30pm) and Tuesday 14 May (10am – 1pm) at St Mary’s Church Parish Centre, Dover.

Two online workshops have now been arranged if you were unable to make the in-person events. These will be held on Tuesday, 21st May and Wednesday, 22 May. By accessing our online consultation, you can add your comments and discuss any route across the district.
