Fairtrade is about better prices, safe working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers.
Fairtrade works with over 400 businesses, from retailers and global brands to small businesses. Their experts offer services including certification, sustainable sourcing and supply chain strategy.
Dover and Deal are both accredited Fairtrade towns. Together they have established a 'Dover District Fairtrade Network' and we are working with them to apply for the whole district to become a Fairtrade Community.
Where possible and in accordance with procurement rules, Fairtrade products are used at council-owned venues, council meetings and council-run events. Kearsney Café is Fairtrade accredited. The White Cliffs Country website provides information on which cafes, restaurants, and accommodation providers use Fairtrade products.
