Event Planning - Light Displays

Laser or other specialist entertainment display

There are risks associated with the operation of lasers therefore special precautions need to be taken.  Please talk to the DDC, Public Protection team and the Fire Service throughout the planning and operational stages of your event.

Any other displays (e.g. re-enactments) that use vehicles, flames, firearms, etc may need special licences and also special precautions such as barriers, according to the hazards and risks that are likely to occur.  The Events Safety Advisory Group can advise you further on this.

All light displays [and large balloon releases] must meet defined criteria by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the Airspace Utilisation Section (AUS).
