I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding the issuing of Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) within your local authority area.
Please could you provide the following information:
- Does your council employ a private contractor or external company to issue environmental FPNs? If yes, please provide the name(s) of the contractor(s) and the date when the contract commenced.
- Please provide the total number of environmental Fixed Penalty Notices (e.g. for littering, fly tipping, dog fouling) issued by your council for each of the following financial years: 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25
- Please state the total income received by the council from environmental FPNs in each of the following years: 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25

1. We do not currently employ a private contractor or external company to issue FPNs. Private contractors for littering and dog fouling offences were utilised in the 2021/2022 financial year.
