Chair of the Council, Councillor Susan Beer
Biography
Councillor Susan Beer was elected Chair of the Council on 21 May 2025. She represents the Ward of North Deal.
Career:
Susan has a degree in French, Russian with Bulgarian. Susan was a teacher for several years before a change of career into Toursim Development, Community Development and Grant Making.
Susan has lived in Germany, France, Bulgaria and New Zealand and still loves to travel now she is retired.
Susan was elected to Deal Town Council in 2017 and then became a Dover District Councillor in 2019. Susan has led on Climate Change initiatives and has been a portfolio holder for Finance and Governance.
Family:
Susan is a wife, mother and grandmother as well as a part time carer.
