Police and Crime Commissioner (1 vacancy for Kent) 

 

Kent County Council (7 vacancies in 5 Divisions) 

 

Dover District Council (1 vacancy for Mill Hill Ward)  

 

Parish Councils (various) 

Deal Town Council (1 vacancy for the Mill Hill Parish Ward) 

Dover Town Council (1 vacancy for the St Radigund’s Parish Ward) 

Walmer Parish Council (1 vacancy for the Upper Walmer Parish Ward) 

 

The Police and Crime Commissioner and the Kent County Council elections will take place on Thursday 6 May 2021. 

In addition, elections to Dover District Council (Mill Hill Ward, one vacancy), Deal Town Council (Mill Hill Parish Ward, one vacancy), Dover Town Council (St Radigund’s Parish Ward, one vacancy) and Walmer Parish Council (Upper Walmer Parish Ward, one vacancy) will also be taking place. 

The deadline to register to vote in these elections is midnight on Monday 19 April 2021. 

If you are unable to visit your polling station or you are concerned about attending a polling station because of the ongoing impact of Covid-19, you can choose to vote by post or to appoint someone to vote on your behalf (a proxy vote). 

To vote by post at these elections or to cancel or change an existing postal or proxy vote you must apply before 5pm on Tuesday 20 April 2021. 

The deadline to apply for a proxy vote for these elections is 5pm on Tuesday 27 April 2021.

Police and Crime Commissioner Election 

The Police Area Returning Officer (PARO) is the person with the overall responsibility for the conduct of these elections.  The PARO for these elections is Sarah Martin at Dartford Borough Council. Nominations will be processed by the PARO’s team at Dartford. For more information on standing as a candidate at the Kent Police and Crime Commissioner Election please visit the PARO's website.

Kent County Council Elections  

The County Returning Officer (CRO) is the person with the overall responsibility for the conduct of these elections. The CRO for these elections is Benjamin Watts at Kent County Council. Nominations will be processed by the Deputy Returning Officers at the relevant District/Borough/City Councils throughout Kent.  For details on the nomination process for Dover’s county divisions, please visit our ‘Standing as a Candidate’ page here.

District and Parish Council By-Elections 

The Returning Officer (RO) is the person with the overall responsibility for the conduct of these elections.  The RO for Dover District Council and all of the towns/parishes within its boundaries is Nadeem Aziz at Dover District Council.  Nominations will be processed by the RO’s team at Dover.
