Planned developments

 The affordable housing developments detailed on this page are in the stages of pre-development. Some will be in the pre-planning, planning and pre-contract stages, while others will be going through a process of resident engagement and a Housing Needs Survey.

Mongeham Road, Great Mongeham

This project was approved by Cabinet in July 2022. This project will acquire 10 affordable units with a mix of 2 & 3 bedroom homes at affordable rent and 3 x 2-bedroom shared ownership homes.


Military Road, Dover

This site plans to provide 8 homes consisting of 7 x 2 bed flats  1 x 1 bed wheel chair accessible flat for general needs housing. The new homes will be let at affordable rent.


 

Poulton Close, Dover CT17 0HL

Planning app reference number: DOV/20/01258

This site is owned by the Council, and is being developed for new Council housing. A planning application has been submitted for 24 flats, including studio, one two and three bedroom flats, with some flats designed to be accessible for people with mobility impairments.

The new homes will be let at social rents and will provide interim housing for local people facing homelessness. The project forms part of the Council’s commitment to develop its own interim housing to reduce the reliance on B&B accommodation.

Several options have been explored and we are working closely with partnering agencies to establish best fit for need and to also obtain best value. Steps have been put in place to protect the ecology of the site.
