Memorial Bench Service
A memorial bench is a special way to remember a loved one, standing as a reminder of their life for many years to come.
In February 2025, the Council decided to reintroduce a memorial bench service, having suspended the previous scheme in 2020. For now, this is a pilot project to test the new approach, and it will be reviewed in 2027. Opportunities are available to purchase memorial benches for installation at selected parks, including Kearsney Abbey and Bushey Ruff. Please note that the Council cannot install any additional memorial benches on Deal and Walmer seafront at this time.
The fee is £4,200 (inc. VAT) which covers purchase and installation of a high-quality metal bench with memorial plaque and ten years of maintenance. After this initial period there will be an opportunity to purchase five further years of maintenance.
