Flying the flag for Armed Forces Day 2025

ArmedForcesDay22.1

To mark the start of Armed Forces Week this year, a ceremony is being held to raise the Armed Forces Day flag on Monday, 23 June at 10.15am at the Sandwich Guildhall.

The local event is being hosted by Dover District Council and Sandwich Town Council.  Events are being held around the country to mark the lead up to national Armed Forces Day on Saturday 28 June.  Armed Forces Day is an annual opportunity for the nation to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces Community.

This follows news that there will be an Armed Forces Day event in the grounds of Dover Castle on Saturday 28 June, 10am-4pm, organised by the Royal British Legion (Dover White Cliffs) in conjunction with DDC and English Heritage.  To make this an even more special day, English Heritage has donated 500 free entry tickets to the castle.  For more information, please see the Armed Forces Support page on the DDC website, or for more information on free tickets, please see the RBL Dover White Cliffs’ Armed Forces Day page on the Eventbrite website.
