Dover District Council (DDC) welcomes the news that it has won three prestigious awards at the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) South East Awards for Planning Excellence 2026.
DDC was awarded Planning Authority of the Year and was recognised by the judges for delivering an innovative, collaborative and high-performing service. The Reawakening the Maison Dieu project won Best Project and Best in Region and was praised by judges as having gone above and beyond for its active engagement with the local community.
The council will now compete against other regional winners at the RTPI National Awards for Planning Excellence on 3 December 2026.
Cllr Edward Biggs, DDC Cabinet Member for Planning said: “We are delighted that the excellent work of our planning team and all those involved in the Maison Dieu project has been recognised in this way. This is a real testament to the hard work of everyone involved.”
