Have your say – Community Governance Review consultation now open

CommunityGovReview

Dover District Council is carrying out a review of the number of councillors allocated to each town/parish council in the district, as part of a Community Governance Review launched this week – and your views are sought.

The Council recognises the important role parish councils play in supporting local communities, and the review aims to ensure that parish governance remains robust, representative and able to meet local challenges.

The deadline for comments on the first stage of this Community Governance Review consultation is 2 April 2026.

For more information on the review, or to have your say on town and parish councillor numbers, please see the online form, or see the Community Governance Review pages on the DDC website at www.dover.gov.uk/elections

Notes:

This follows news that Government has launched a separate consultation on Local Government Reorganisation, and comes as the district prepares for parish council elections due in May 2027.
