Explore our wonderful landscape, history and wildlife this October with the White Cliffs Walking Festival - which takes place from Saturday 3 to Saturday 10 October.
The festival has been organised by the White Cliffs Ramblers and White Cliffs Country at Dover District Council.
There are twenty walks across the district and beyond, featuring a whole range of highlights and unique places of interest, and many of the walks, including all those organised by the White Cliffs Ramblers, are free.
The walks range in distance from 1-12 miles and are graded as either easy, leisurely, moderate or strenuous. A few need to be booked in advance.
Walks include ‘Waves, Caves, Graves, Sushi’ from Dover, ‘Deal to Sandwich’ along the King Charles III England Coastal Path, ‘Ancient Landscapes and Natural History, Walmer', 'Samphire Hoe Explorer', and ‘Ripple - Solley’s Ice Cream Parlour – Figure of 8’.
Following previous successful White Cliffs Ramblers' Walking Weeks, this year's programme also includes several themed walks arranged by White Cliffs Country at Dover District Council. The packed festival showcases the wide range of fantastic walking routes in the district.
John Pye, Chair of White Cliffs Ramblers said: “We’re delighted to be offering a fantastic range of walks this autumn and I want to thank all the volunteers who are giving up their time to make this happen. There are countryside and coastal walks, and some celebrate the opening of the King Charles III England Coast Path.”
