Filming on council land

Dover district is a popular filming location and productions such as Mr Selfridge, Wolf Hall and World War Z have been filmed here.

To film on Dover District Council-owned land you must get permission from us.

Kent Film Office

Kent Film Office is the first port of call if you would like to film in the Dover district. It is the official film commission for Kent and Medway. It works with film and television production teams to facilitate filming across the county by providing permits, location support and guidance to ensure filming is carried out safely and responsibly.

It can:

  • help source locations suitable for all types of productions, large and small, blockbuster and budget
  • issue filming permits through a quick, online application process
  • facilitate traffic management requests
  • help with training and careers for those wishing to work in the TV and filming industry.
