Inspection outcome

We have welcomed the outcome of a recent inspection by the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH), which confirms we are compliant with the Government’s Consumer Standards for social landlords.

We recognise the importance of the regulator’s findings and acknowledge that, while compliance has been achieved, there remain areas where further improvements are required. Work is already underway to strengthen services in key areas identified during the inspection

Receiving a C2 rating is a positive endorsement of the work underway across the council. We are one of only two councils in Kent to have achieved this rating so far, underlining our continued focus on delivering high-quality services.

We are committed to building on this progress and will continue to work closely with the regulator to ensure ongoing improvements are delivered. Our focus remains on providing high quality housing services and the best possible outcomes for tenants.

We are pleased the regulator has recognised we are compliant with the Government’s Consumer Standards for social landlords. However, we are not complacent. We know there is more to do, and we are already taking action to improve the services we provide. That said, we are extremely pleased we have met the outcomes of the safety and quality standard. Our priority is to ensure all our tenants receive a safe, high quality service, and we are committed to working closely with the regulator to deliver meaningful and lasting improvements.

Kevin Mills, Leader of Dover District Council

We also extend our thanks to residents who contributed to the inspection process. Tenant feedback and lived experiences played a vital role in informing the regulator’s assessment and will continue to help shape future service improvements.
