Request

  1. Why was the automated payment line recently updated?
  2. It was easy and simple to use now more complicated.  Is DDC aware of these problems?  If so, what remedial action does the Council intend to take?
  3. Has the operation of the updated service been reviewed?
  4. Payment amounts have to be given in pence which is odd so why are payments only accepted in pence?
  5. Is this updated service now intended to put people off and use direct debits instead?

Response

  1. This is set out in a report entitled Implementation of Consolidated Income System considered by Cabinet on 4 March 2024 which can be found on our website at https://moderngov.dover.gov.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=121&MId=4826.

  4. The payment provider is Windcave and payments are taken in pounds and pence in line with other payment providers.  For example, if you are paying a bill for £35.36 you would need to say thirty five pounds and thirty six pence.
  5. No.
