Details of council planning process in decision to levy council tax premium on second home owners, specifically if correct legal guidelines were followed in making this decision. Copies of/links to relevant documentation to verify decisions.
Response
The Council approved the implementation of the 'second home' premium at the meeting on 31 January 2024 (Councillors and Elections) and that decision was reaffirmed at the meeting on 29 January 2025 (Councillors and Elections) and therefore the legislative requirement to approve the application of the 'second home' premium, at least 12 months before the implementation date, was discharged by this Council.
