I would like to request the following information relating to council tax collection and enforcement within your authority area.

Please provide the data for the most recent full financial year available, ideally 2025/26, and if possible also for each of the previous three financial years for comparison.

1.      The total number of domestic properties/households liable for council tax within the authority area.

2.      The total amount of council tax billed.

3.      The total amount of outstanding council tax arrears at the end of the financial year.

4.      The number of households/accounts in council tax arrears at the end of the financial year.

5.      The number of liability orders obtained by the council relating to unpaid council tax.

6.      The number of cases/accounts referred to enforcement agents/bailiffs for council tax debt collection.

7.      The total amount paid by the council to enforcement agents/bailiff companies in relation to council tax debt recovery.

8.      The total amount of council tax debt successfully recovered through enforcement agent/bailiff action.
