We work to make universal inclusive mobility a reality. To achieve this, we develop technological tools that facilitate mobility and independence for people with reduced mobility. Recently, we launched a free European application that integrates parking spots for people with reduced mobility (PRM) into an accessible map featuring navigation options, incident reporting, and information about local parking regulations. Our goal is to make it easier for people with reduced mobility to travel beyond their own city, whether for work, tourism, or personal reasons, and to easily locate accessible parking spaces in other municipalities. We currently have more than 700 cities mapped across Europe, over 13,000 users, and more than 100,000 PRM parking spots.
We believe that accessibility is a key factor in improving citizens' quality of life and promoting the inclusion of all people. Having information about PRM parking spots integrated into a tool can be highly beneficial for both residents and visitors with reduced mobility, making travel easier and promoting more accessible and inclusive mobility. We are trying to add your our municipality on our platform and include the PRM parking spots. However, we are not certain whether online information is accurate or up to date, and after reviewing the public information available on your website, we were also unable to find a reliable dataset. We would therefore greatly appreciate receiving a file in CSV, GeoJSON, or a similar format containing the geographic coordinates(latitude and longitude) of the PRM parking spots, so that we can accurately display them on our map.
Would you be able to assist us by providing a digital file containing the parking spot data? By doing so, we can continue advancing accessibility and inclusion by offering citizens a useful and free tool.
Response
The Council does not hold data that just shows parking spaces for people with reduced mobility (known as disabled parking bays). The data that we do hold that shows all Council car parks and has a column indicating the number of disabled bays (if any are present) and in addition any on street disabled bays that have been applied for and approved.
