Make sure your bins are out for collection at the front boundary of your property by 7am on your collection day. If the bins are not out in time, we may miss them.
Collections are made between 7am and 4pm, or later if there are unexpected delays or vehicle breakdowns.
Missed collections must be reported by the end of the day following the scheduled collection day. Please ensure that you only report the bin that was missed, as we use different vehicles to collect the different types of waste. If you request the wrong service your bin will not be emptied
If the contractor records that your bin wasn’t out when they visited, we’ll check the vehicle’s CCTV. If it’s clear the bin wasn’t presented, they won’t return to collect it. You will need to put it out on the next scheduled collection date.
You can report a missed bin collection for:
- recycling
- household rubbish
- food waste
- garden waste
You must report it within one working day of your scheduled collection.

Recycling will not be collected if it is mixed with things that cannot be recycled. This includes:
- black sacks
- soft plastics including bags
- electrical waste
- nappy waste
- textiles
It is your responsibility to remove any contamination from your recycling bin. If it’s contaminated, the contractor won’t return until your next scheduled collection.

Black sacks and side waste
Any waste left by the side of the wheeled bin, either loose or in black sacks, will not be collected.

Food waste
Food waste is collected on the same day as your refuse or recycling, but using a different collection vehicle.
This will be at a different time, so it may be later on in the day. Report missed collections the following day unless you are certain your collection has been missed.
