Our district welcomes many visitors travelling with caravans and motorhomes—whether you're here to explore the area or passing through on your way to the continent.
Where can I park if I have a motorhome or caravan?
- motorhome parking is available in most of our car parks if the vehicle fits within a single bay
- if your motorhome/caravan exceeds a single bay, you can park at Maison Dieu Road car park in Dover using two bays. Get directions to Maison Dieu Road car park.
- if you are using two bays, vehicles must display two valid pay-and-display tickets
- overnight sleeping in any vehicle is not permitted in our car parks.
- motorhomes must not park in bays reserved for other users (coach bays, taxi ranks, bus stops etc)
Overnight parking
Motorhomes/caravans are no longer permitted to park on Marine Parade and Waterloo Crescent in Dover between 8am and 6pm. However, overnight parking is allowed for a £13 fee, payable at Marine Parade and Waterloo Crescent pay and display machines.
Parking a caravan/motorhome on council property
If you are a council tenant, you must not park any caravan, motorhome, boat, trailer or commercial vehicle (over 3.5 tonnes unladen weight) at your home (or any other land that we own, without our written permission.
Alternative parking
There are facilities available at Folkestone Services off junction 11 of the M20 with toilets and showers, a food court and fuel station.
