We are redesigning our website to make it easier for you to access our services online.
This is happening in phases so you'll start to notice some parts of the website looking different.
building control information is held for all applications received on or after 1 November 1991
for applications (with a completion certificate) received between 1 November 1991 and 1 January 1994, only the key documents have been kept. All other documents have been destroyed.
the database includes only those records which we hold digitally. It is not a complete database of all of the information we hold
you should not rely on information from this site as an alternative to traditional local land searches
while we take great care to ensure that the information provided on this site is accurate, we cannot accept any liability or responsibility for incorrect or incomplete information
if you suspect that information is incorrect, please contact us so we can investigate and make any corrections as soon as possible.
A competent persons scheme allows approved tradespeople to self‑certify certain types of building work as compliant with building regulations, without needing approval from our building control service:
we are notified of competent person scheme records and basic details are recorded
the date displayed against these entries in our database is the date we uploaded the notifications and not the date in which the work was carried out
we do not check these schemes for compliance with the building regulations - if you require copy certificates please contact the owner of the property or the company that originally carried out the works.
