Tradesperson waiver and bay suspensions

Tradesperson waivers are intended for people who need to park near a property for maintenance, such as builders, trades or other service providers. They can also be used if an extended on-street stay is needed.

Each application is assessed individually and we ask that you read all the terms and conditions below before applying.

Tradesperson waiver cost

On-street parking waivers allow parking on all on-street bays, excluding pay and display bays, loading restrictions and disabled bays.

• £25 per day
• £60 per week
• £170 per month

Email parking@dover.gov.uk for off-street (car park) permits rather than applying through the My Permits system.

Bay suspensions for on and off street bays

A bay suspension reserves one or more parking spaces on a road or in a car park for works, events or house removals. This service is only available on roads with formal parking restrictions, such as limited waiting, residents' parking or pay-and-display areas

We require two weeks' notice in order to process suspensions and we will not accept applications if not enough notice is given.

Cost of a bay suspension

• £155 per suspension (set-up cost), plus £30 per bay, per day, plus VAT if required in a car park
• for all pay and display spaces an additional commercial rate of £5 per day will be charged
• no refunds for cancellations of works will be given.
