We are committed to improving the appearance of the district and creating places which are clean, green and safe, and where people want to live and work.
To achieve these objectives, we carry out enforcement action to make sure that:
- the quality of life and the health, safety and welfare of residents and visitors are maintained
- the district is an attractive and welcoming place for all
- residents and visitors are not harassed or subjected to anti-social behaviour
- planning regulations are adhered to.
Corporate Enforcement Strategy
Our Enforcement Strategy has been created as an overarching document for all types of enforcement activity undertaken by us. It sets out priorities to guide officers when deciding what action to take in carrying out their duties on behalf of the council.
