Advice For Attending At Burials and Ashes Interments - Updated Monday 5th October

We know these are difficult times, not least for those who want to say "goodbye" to loved ones at funerals. At the same time, you will be concerned that gathering at funerals could expose mourners to coronavirus. As with all walks of life at present, there is particular concern for the elderly, frail and those in vulnerable groups.

The health and welfare of funeral directors, church, burial and cemetery staff also has to be considered.

Attending Services

Following the review of lockdown rules, attendance at funerals at this time should remain be restricted to immediate family members with no more than 30 attending and observing social distancing rules. This includes spouse/partner, parents/carers, siblings (brothers/sisters), children and their partners.

In this fast moving situation it may be necessary to update this advice at any time
