Tenancy Strategy

We are consulting on a new Tenancy Strategy and we would like to hear your views. This document sets out the council's strategic approach to tenancies across the Dover district and provides guidance to registered providers (housing associations) operating in the area.

The strategy has been developed in line with legal requirements and establishes the principles that social housing providers should consider when making decisions about tenancies.

The strategy is intended to help ensure that social housing is managed fairly, consistently and in a way that supports residents and local communities.

Tenancy and Neighbourhood Management Policy

We are consulting on a new and refreshed Tenancy and Neighbourhood Management Policy and we would like to hear your views.

This policy sets out our approach to tenancy and neighbourhood management and combines several related policies into one document. By bringing together our tenancy management, neighbourhood management, tenancy fraud, mobility scooter, housing enforcement and pet policies, we aim to make information clearer, more accessible and easier for tenants to use.

How we use your personal data

When we ask residents to complete surveys as part of consultation and engagement activities, we may ask for some personal information. We do this for two main reasons:

• to ensure that the contact information we hold, such as phone numbers and email addresses, is accurate and up to date. We might also update our information if you tell us you now have a disability or where we have gaps in our information about you.
• to help us understand whether we are hearing from a representative range of residents and to ensure we are not missing important views from particular groups within our communities.

You are not required to provide personal information. Where personal information is requested, a 'prefer not to say' option, or the ability to leave the question blank, will always be available.

To help us understand and meet the diverse needs of our tenants, improve housing services and enhance tenant satisfaction, we may collect the following information:

While we may collect personal information, all information is treated confidentially. Individual survey responses are anonymised wherever possible and reported only in aggregated form, meaning that individuals cannot be identified from the results.
